On June 18, we hosted our second session- elephant toothpaste at Abode Shelter. We taught the kids about chemical reactions, and even having a small Q&A about the presentation. We showed how hydrogen peroxide, combined with a squirt of dish soap, and a solution of yeast and water, and decompose into oxygen and water, thus forming an exothermic reaction releasing heat. The kids enjoyed watching the chemical reaction take place right in front of their eyes, and enjoyed the hands-on learning experience they got.
